Why Muva?

Muva was born from the belief that motherhood and artistry are not separate paths—they’re intertwined.

Our space was created to house mothers who are not only raising children but also raising their voices through their art.

We provide studio space, a retail storefront, and gallery exposure—alongside a nurturing, supportive environment for both artists and their children.

Our Vision

To create a world where mom artists are visible, valued, and financially empowered through their craft.

Our Mission

Shop art. Support moms. Celebrate creativity at Muva.

The Name "Muva"

A nod to maternal strength, creative fire, and community leadership.

Our Founder

Jonarra Swanson

A Seattle-based artist and entrepreneur.

Jonarra's work is a fusion of poetry, expressionism, and realism, characterized by bold colors and intricate linework that reflect her African heritage.

Beyond creating art, she is committed to community engagement, conducting workshops for both youth and adults, and collaborating with fellow artists to activate the city's art scene.

MUVA, a workshop gallery in Seattle's Columbia Tower, is designed to empower mother artists by providing a platform to showcase and sell their work.
