Nakeesa Frazier Jennings

NaKeesa Frazier-Jennings, is an entrepreneur and owner of Nakeesa Marie Enterprises in Tacoma, Washington.  She is a long-term resident of Western Washington and was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area.  NaKeesa is an advocate for racial and social justice often using the written word and having contributed to various projects that shed light on the many issues impacting Black people and people from other marginalized groups.

During her childhood, NaKeesa watched as her mom and stepdad (who raised her) and her bio dad (who lived in the area where she was raised) all pursued various entrepreneurial endeavors. Though entrepreneurship was not suggested to her as a career path by her parents, seeing their journeys must have had an impact as she became one herself at the tender age of ten when she started babysitting her neighbors children.

When her life’s journey brought her to Seattle, Washington as an adult, she became an artist manager for visual artists, musicians and other creatives. While managing other artists careers, she also forged her own literary artist path having penned several articles published in local news outlets, contributing to several anthologies, writing and reading her work to live audiences through her membership in the African-American Writers’ Alliance and via invitation to participate in the Non-Fiction for No Reason writers project.

NaKeesa has always been an advocate for self-care and self-love and this mission that she believes is a critical wellness tool as a Black woman which led her to create a variety of wellness books in 2024 titled 100 Days of Gentle Accountability and in June 2025, she released a version of the guided journals for kids titled 30 Days of Gentle Accountability: KIDS

NaKeesa believes that gentle (self) accountability is the ultimate form of self-love and by using this guided journal as a resource, adults and kids alike can explore just how powerful and transformational gentle accountability can be as it encourages personal growth without harsh judgment or self-criticism. Unlike other accountability methods, this approach focuses on kindness, understanding, and self-compassion.

As a bonus mom, NaKeesa spent time helping to raise two (now adult) children however, she believes that once a mom, always a mom and she has mothered many other young people throughout the years and continues to be a community auntie to many to this day.  Her hope is that through her written words in various publications and through her wellness journals, she will model how important it is to pursue your individual passions and how important being true to yourself is and journey will encourage others to do the same.
